Though CD and concert ticket sales continue to plummet, rock clothing and merchandise sales remain as steady as always. The more rock merchandise and clothing available the better for the bands. And with the tremendous growth of the internet, its now easier than ever for consumers to purchase and find all of these items.

A large portion of consumers are teenage rock music fans. Teenagers make a statement with the bands that they like and the clothing that they wear. High school is a fashion show. Showing up to school in a new Green Day, Slipknot, or Led Zeppelin shirt makes a statement to the rest of their school. It almost tells everyone what kind of personality they have. It lets peers know who they can be cool with.

Older music fans also steadily continue to support their favorite artists of the past. Music is something that stirs memories of a past time or place. For good or bad.
