The river dolphins are only slightly different than their sea variety, with somewhat less developed eye sight due to their habitat in the dark waters as well as the possession of a larger snout. They are also somewhat less active owing to the environment they live in. Even among the group of river dolphins there are slight variations. The pink flush of the pink dolphin is partly attributed to capillaries near their skin surface and less well to the chemical composition of their water.
