Risks And Benefits Of Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass Surgery

While Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery is the most common bariatric procedure to deal with morbid obesity, it does carry certain risks, some that are unique it alone and not other bariatric surgical options, namely gastric sleeve and adjustable band.

The risks and side effects of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery range from mild to serious.

A better quality of life. 95 percent of people who have had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery report a greatly improved quality of life after surgery. Other studies suggest that patients who lose the weight and keep it off will live longer than obese people who dont have the procedure.
