Rhode Island: Infiniti Qx Outdoes The Competition

Rhode Island: Infiniti QX SUVs are often misunderstood. Although increasingly more understood, Infiniti is not always recognized for the luxury brand that it is. Because the auto brand has not been around as long as the mainstays of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, consumers see the price tags accompanying Infiniti vehicles and think my oh my, why wouldnt I just buy a Mercedes or a BMW for that price? Well, the answer to that question is for lots of reasons.
To start, Infiniti vehicles are less expensive than their Mercedes-Benz and BMW peers in their perspective classes. However, they arent any less endowed. Thus, the reason that you should not just buy a Mercedes or BMW for that price is because an equivalent Mercedes-Benz of BMW doesnt exist at that price.
Take, for example, the Infiniti QX56 SUV, available for purchase at Rhode Island Infiniti QX and Rhode Island used Infiniti QX dealerships. This vehicle has a base price of $58,700 and features a 5.6-liter V8 engine offering drivers the enjoyment of 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. To get this kind of power from a BMW, youre looking at an X5 xDrive50i which comes to the tune of $63,800. This vehicle uses a 4.4-liter V8 engine and achieves 400 horsepower too. However, this is the only version of the X5 that BMW offers with this kind of power. The most powerful Mercedes is the GL550 SUV, but this vehicle can only claim 382 horsepower from its 5.5-liter V8 engine and will cost you $84,450. Ouch.
As society encourages us to become more environmental and efficient, people are thinking twice about purchasing a big SUV. Thus, those that have made the decision to purchase an SUV are more than likely doing so because they need the space. Well the Infiniti QX56 just so happens to beat out the competition in this regard as well. All vehicles seat seven, but only two do so comfortably the Infiniti and the Mercedes Benz. The BMW has thrown two seats in the rear of the vehicle that look just big enough to fit a child 8 years old or younger. However, another reason to buy a big SUV is for its cargo space and towing capacity. The Mercedes GL 550 falls short to our Infiniti QX56 in both categories, offering only 83 cubic feet of cargo space compared to the QX56s 95.1 cubic feet and just 7,500-lb towing capacity to the Infinitis 8,500-lbs.
The ways in which the Infiniti QX56 out does its considered-to-be-more-luxurious competition are numerous and would require several more pages of comparisons, not to mention a drive test of all three vehicles to prove that the Infiniti just feels better (and looks better too.) But instead, the fact that the vehicle is more powerful and thousands of dollars cheaper than its competitors should be enough to get you to your local Rhode Island Infiniti used QX and new QX dealer to learn more specifics about the vehicle, as well as take it for a test drive. After doing so, you will no longer consider BMW and Mercedes-Benz out of Infinitis league, but perhaps you may find the opposite to be true.
