Schools in general have requirements before a student is accepted in their program. CNA schools are no exception to the general rule. Requirements to a certain level are found in all education institutions.

Medicine is a sector not affected it may seem by the economic crisis. Many are attempting to enter the medical field to land a stable job after graduating. Students are focused on short term study, rather than studying a course which may take longer period to finish. A certificate training program is widely looked upon. The advantage of a certificate program is its shortness in duration and minimum requirements to enroll in.

A requirement for a student to be accepted in CNA Schools is to be a high school graduate or its equivalent in many countries. Governments are regulating these schools. Government agencies are also setting rules and regulations to be followed in the training program of the the various schools with nursing assistant certificate course.

In the United States and in most other countries, there are a minimum number of hours required for students to acquire a Certificate of Nursing Assistant. Seventy five (75) hours is the minimum for the training program. Sixteen hours is called clinical hours in the course for nursing assistant. The training program shall be supervised by competent instructors.

Requirements for a certificate program for nursing assistant vary from country to country. A minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) weeks length of the program is required students to undergo. The training program has instructions in different areas. Rights of patients to confidentiality are one of the topics to be covered in the training program. Students are also required to go through the basic nursing procedures.

Students shall be taught of patients' activities in daily living and other related service. Students will be taught and tested for competency in the aspects of giving service. These students shall be competent enough to deliver the important assistance to their patients.

Certified Nursing Assistants work under direct supervision of a registered nurse. Aside from registered nurses, nursing assistant also work with doctors. Nursing assistants deals directly with patients. CNA schools include curriculum teaching students to help patients with their activities in daily living. Students are also taught to help their patients.

These nursing assistants shall be working in bedsides of patients with their supervisors, the registered nurse or the doctor. Students before passing the program for Certified Nursing Assistant shall follow and pass all requirements of the training course.
