Relationship Between Phytoestrogen And Mammary Glands Development

This largely happens due to high levels of oestrogen and progesterone that are circulating preventing women from breastfeeding during pregnancy. The sudden withdrawal of these hormones at the end of pregnancy initiates the beginning of breastfeeding. The oestrogen also acts to adjust the number of prolactin receptors in the tissue of the chest.
