Refractometers For Industrial Applications

A complete range of pocket size digital refractometers are available for various applications including fruit and vegetables, jelly, syrup, drinks, propylene glycol solutions, cutting oils and urine specific gravity.

- The PAL-1 is suitable for food and beverage manufacture as well as fruit and vegetable markets. It has a wide measuring range of 0.0 - 53.0 percent brix and features automatic temperature compensation. The unit is waterproof, and conforms to IP65.

- The Patissier is suitable for confectioners and is used to measure sugar levels in fruit, jelly and syrup. It is dual scale (brix and baume) and has a measurement range of 0.0 - 85.0 percent brix (accuracy (+/- 0.2 precent) or 0 - 45 degrees baume (accuracy +/- 1 degrees). The Patissier is water resistant, and conforms to IP65

Brix is often used when making syrup as it allows you to determine when the heat needs to be turned off. Syrup has a certain concentration on site and therefore the heat needs to be turned off at a specific moment.

- The 88S is suitable for propylene glycol solutions. It is dual scale and has been designed to measure the concentration and freezing point of a sample.

The 88S has a measurement range of 0.0 - 90.0precent (accuracy +/- 0.4 percent) and 0 - 50 degrees celcius (accuracy +/- 1 degrees). The unit is water resistant, and conforms to IP65.

- The 102S is suitable for monitoring the concentration and diluting ratio of cutting oils and washing solutions. It is also suitable for metalworking fluid (water based solutions), lubricant oil and hydraulic oil.

The 102S has a measurement range of 0.0 - 70.0 percent brix (accuracy +/- 0.2 precent) and features automatic temperature compensation (10-75 degrees celcius). The unit is water resistant and conforms to IP6.

- Pen-sized refractometers are also available and are quick and easy to use. Simply press the start button then dip the end of the refractometer in the sample and stir - It will continue to create measurements until the readings become stable.

They have a measurement range of 0.0 - 85.0 percent brix (accuracy +/- 0.2 percent) and features automatic temperature compensation (10 - 60 degrees celcius). The unit is water resistant, and conforms to IP65 (IP 67 for the prism head).

- The pen-sized S.G. refractometer is ideal for sports coaches, hospitals and occupational health and safety administrators as it is quick and easy to use. Simply press the start button then dip the end of the refractometer in the sample and stir - it will continue to create measurements until the readings become stable.

Urine specific gravity (U.S.G) is a laboratory test that measures the concentration of particles in the urine. In clinical pathology U.S.G is commonly used to evaluate kidney function. While athletes and occupational health and safety administrators use U.S.G to make sure individuals consume enough water during strenuous activity.

Urine specific gravity (the concentration of these excreted particles in urine) is generally expressed in grams/millilitre (g/mL). The S.G features automatic temperature compensation (10 - 40 degrees celcius), and has a measurement range of 1.0000 - 1.0600 urine S.G (accuracy +/- 0.0010). A normal specific gravity value ranges from 1.002 - 1.028 g/mL.
