There is nothing more important to us than our precious little ones. Babies are fragile, delicate, and some even have very fussy digestive systems. You want to make sure that the things you are feeding your child are safe and good for them. What they eat now will influence their diets as they grow older. It is our responsibility to teach them now, and to take care of them the best way we know how. Given below are things you should not be feeding your baby:

1.Never let your baby eat raw fish. While it is certainly okay for adults to consume it, babies should never come in contact with this sort of thing until they are much, much older. Raw fish can sometimes contain certain bacteria that might not mix very well with your baby's digestive system. Food poisoning and other problems can result from eating raw fish.

2.Do not give your baby tap water. It doesn't matter how much the doctor says that it is okay. If you ask one doctor, they will say that it is fine, and another will say that it is not. Tap water contains some very dangerous chemicals, like lead. Too much lead can result in lead poisoning, which can be very deadly in some cases.

3.Do not give your baby large chunks of food. As your baby begins to mature and begin eating better on his or her own, you may feel more confident about them larger portions of food. But beware that the risk of choking is still present. The safest thing to do would be to continue chopping up their food into small pieces to prevent such a thing from happening.

4.Give your child processed meats very sparingly, if any at all. These include meats like bologna, sausage, all other sandwich meat, hot dogs, and canned meats. These meats contain all sorts of unhealthy chemicals that can lead to serious infection. They are also not very good for the colon.

5.While there is nothing wrong with letting your small child enjoy a cup of chocolate pudding or piece of candy every now and then, it isn't very smart to let this become an everyday activity. First of all, these products contain way too much sugar to be nutritious. Secondly, your child may not want anything else after he or she gets a taste of how sweet sugary foods really are. These types of foods can ruin your child's diet and lead to health problems not far down the road.

6.Artificial juices can sometimes contain artificial sweeteners, which have been linked to cancer. Unfortunately, small children are not exempt from the same exact diseases as adults are, so it is best to avoid giving your child these drinks at all costs. Instead, give your child juices that have no added sugar.

7.Never give your child caffeine. Caffeine can from tea, soda, chocolate, and a few other sources. Sodas especially contain a hefty amount of both sugar and caffeine. Talk about a nightmare! Caffeine can naturally give anyone the jitters. Just imagine what it does to your baby.

Paying attention to your baby's diet will really make a difference over the long haul. As he or she grows older, they will be better able to understand why you feed them the foods that you do. It is always important to follow these guidelines in order to avoid illness and a number of possible health problems.
