By:

Within the Jewish faith there are certain ceremonies that that are performed to prepare a young man or woman for adulthood and marriage. Starting with a bris that commemorates a man's humility before his creator with the circumcision of a male child on their eight day of life, the roles that are placed before the Jews allow them to be raised in the traditions of their forbearers that have been passed on from one generation to the next for centuries. Learning passages of scripture from the sacred record of the Torah and Talmud as they are taught Hebrew, children of the Jewish faith have a bar mitzvah ceremony when they are 13 to mark the rite of passage into adulthood. Reading aloud from the Torah before the gathered congregation the young men and women are blesses by a rabbi who officiates on their special day.

Throughout the world the Jewish rabbi is respected as the holy leader of a community and synagogue. Being hailed as a wise man who can give counsel to his congregation through the interpretations of scripture the office of a rabbi is honored and regarded by all followers of the Jewish religion. Officiating at a bris or bar mitzvah or even at a wedding, rabbis are responsible for keeping the traditions of God's chosen people alive. Following exactly the format of each ceremony that has been recorded and passed on from one generation to the next, a Florida rabbi performs the same ordinances in the same way as a rabbi in New York or a rabbi that is living in Israel. Keeping the heritage of the blessings of the faith alive for up and coming generations of young Jewish followers the rabbi teaches special courses to the children that are preparing for their bar mitzvah ceremony so that they are ready to recite from the Torah on their special day.

As a couple chooses to marry and form a union before God, the rabbi is asked to officiate at the wedding and presents the rituals that are followed by faithful members of the Jewish faith to the invited guests that are witnessing the forming of a new marriage in the sight of God. Performing the ceremony at the wedding rabbis are the masters of the Jewish law and teachers of the congregation that are assigned to a community to be the religious leader. Taking their role as seriously as is deemed by their calling and position, there are some rabbis who make the more serious occasions in life entertaining as they perform the rituals that carry great significance to the people that are chosen by God.
