So, you want to quit smoking?

I bet you realize how difficult it is to quit smoking. To quit smoking takes quite a bit of will power and self-determination - but you CAN do it! Gasping for air

By the time you quit, about 90 days after your stop date, you'll begin to notice about a 30% improvement with your lung function. If you keep smoking your risks of getting lung cancer will continue to grow more and more. But once you quit your chances will level off nicely. Smokers of filter-tip cigarettes may have a slightly lower risk of lung cancer than those who smoke non-filter cigarettes; but they still have greatly increased risks of heart attack and emphysema.


Help

You can get support in many ways: Tell your family, friends, and coworkers that you are going to quit and want their support. Make sure you give yourself enough information on tobacco use and be patient with yourself. When you quit smoking you may feel like giving up. It is not easy to do! If it was then everyone would be quit like BAM! But when you're armed with information and know it may be a rocky road ahead, it makes it that much easier to do once you put your mind to it.


Quitting

Many people struggle through a smoking cessation plan and give up with little or no results. Remember: it all starts in your head. From there it will go to your physical body.


The ending...

When you quit smoking try eating healthier. And if you don't sucessfully quit the first or second or third time, remember...don't go too hard on yourself - you can do it! Persistence is key! You can quit smoking together and gain strength from each other.
