Quit Smoking A Little Differently

Quit smoking a little differently
It is important to understand that you smoke because you are addicted, not because you enjoy it. Many smokers who suggest they dont want to quit say they like smoking, but we have seen that is a very misleading statement they just dont like not smoking. There is a difference. A big difference!
Cigarettes are extremely addictive its true! Most people know this on some level. What most people dont know, however, is that breaking through this addiction is very easily done.
Watch any quit-smoking commercial and theyll tell you, Quit now, its bad for you but boy, its a hard road ahead! This misinformation is exactly the problem. By emphasizing and exaggerating how hard it will be, the mind is conditioned to make the problem bigger than it actually is.
Youve probably tried to quit before and found that indeed it was hard. I have no doubt it was. In fact, I have experienced that mental frustration myself. But that was only the case because I was convinced it would be.
The mind is very powerful.
The actual physical withdrawal symptoms from smoking are insignificant. Compare a bit of irritability and restlessness with heroins withdrawal symptoms aches, cramping, nausea, and vomiting! Weve all seen heroin addicts in the movies, trying to break their addiction and cramped up in a corner, sweating like hell.
You have been dealing with the withdrawal pangs for your entire smoking life. You experience them every day, all day long. They begin the moment you extinguish every cigarette. You just havent noticed because you are not paying it any attention. Consider also that you can go all night without smoking, and the addiction does not wake you up. Many smokers even wait until after breakfast to have their first cigarette.
When getting off nicotine, were talking about a little anxiety over as much as the first seventy-two hours it takes the majority of the nicotine to leave your body. Most of it is gone on day one. The addiction may be strong, but the physical withdrawal symptoms are insignificant. The problem is in your head!
Your addiction to nicotine will last a lifetime, but as the nicotine rapidly leaves your body, the physical symptoms disappear as well. Nicotine leaves the body by about half every two hours. When smokers still have the urge to smoke after weeks and months, it is due to mental fabrication. Understand this!
If you stay positive, the excitement and relief that you have stopped smoking will easily override any mild temporary irritability you may otherwise feel.
It is really all in the head! It is only hard if you think its hard. You have been taught it is and have accepted it as truth change that!
