Mount Laurel is a township in Burlington County in one of the United Sates' original 13 colonies: New Jersey. It is home to a quite densely populated area of people. It is a suburban town and is around 22 square miles in area.

Politically, the town operates a township government which includes a committee to govern the land. This governing body is required to elect a mayor and a deputy mayor from amongst themselves annually. It is a part of the eight Legislative Districts of New Jersey and is in the Third Congressional District.

There are two state highways that pass through: Route 38 and 73. There are also two interstate highways: the New Jersey Turnpike and I-259. There are also 10 major country roads in the town.

The residents of the area reside in mostly single-family homes, including town houses and condos. There is a Country College Campus and eight elementary schools, one of which was recognized with the US Department of Education's Blue Ribbon award. There are retirement communities and a nursing home here.

The major firms located in Mount Laurel, New Jersey are NFL Films, Commerce Bank, Lockheed Martin, PHH Mortgage etc. There are many shopping centers and stores like the East Gate and the Centreton Square, which prove to be a major attraction for shoppers all over South Jersey area.

Major landmarks include the Laurel Acres Park. This place is famous for the Veteran's Memorial. There is also a playground and a fishing lake at Laurel Acres Park. A huge grassy hill serves as a platform for concerts and for sledding in the snowy winter.

For avid nature lovers, there is a nature trail at the park along with a sports field too. The Laurel Acres Park also hosts a township community day commonly known as the Mount Laurel Fall Festival every year. It is a fun-filled day for the family. The recreational waterways passing through town are the South Branch of the Pennsauken Creek and the Rancocas Creek.

Mount Laurel, New Jersey is home to many other parks and recreation facilities owing to the township's efforts to preserve open spaces. For tourists, the town boasts of many luxurious hotels which promise to make your stay a pleasant one.

A year round average of 65 percent occupancy is seen in these hotels. There is a commercial rail line and many main airports with flight patterns over the place, making easy to both visit and get away.
