Qualify For The Game Of Life Through Personal Growth

By:

When does personal growth begin in our lives? Many of us feel life is like an ongoing race. As a toddler the only race we're in is running around the house finding the next thing we can get into or discover something that sparks our interest. Once life really begins in a serious way during adolescence, we soon realize that life is more complicated. Certainly we are the ones creating all the complications in life yet we don't realize it until we actually become adults.

Of course some parents try to teach children of every age responsibility, yet in most cases if falls on deaf ears. Especially the teenagers these days just don't want to hear anything from their parents that comes close to making them take responsibility for anything.

Personal development can bring more balance in the choices we make. "Life is all about choices" and you as a person are responsible for the choices you make. Sometimes we struggle with the choices we have made. But it's very important to understand that once you make the choice, you must own that choice you make at that moment in time. So, do not regret your choices.

Develop a "what if" scenario before any choice is made, never afterwards. You'll always have time to think about the choices you have made later and make important adjustments. Personal development programs can help you make stronger choices in life.

Making the right choices is something that has to be learned and experienced. Making good choices will come easy for some, not so easy for others. To other people it is their biggest struggle in life. That learning process will help you to develop your personality. People seem to admire strong people who can make a choice and stay with it. People are not attracted to people who can't make a choice or seem to allow the winds of change take them back to their original choice and observe them changing their game plan over and over again.

People qualify for the game of life by making a good plan and working it until it comes to fruition. It takes a mature attitude to develop a plan and stick with it until it is executed. The stronger you stand in sticking with your plan the stronger you will stand in life. The better and more intelligent your choices are the more you will rise to a higher level of excellence.

Once you have achieved a certain level of expertise and excellence a world of abundance can lay at your feet. Personal development books and personal coaching seminars can help tremendously in creating leadership skills. You can invent your own personal leadership training program just for you. Your natural skills can be fine-tuned so you can feel assured your heart's desire can be attracted to you.

People can easily disqualify themselves for the game of life when they keep changing their plans and begin a series of chaotic and unproductive exercises that lead nowhere. People sometimes jump from one thing to another. For a while that can be tons of fun, like a child seeing the next "bright, shiny object." After a while they begin to realize there is no forward progression in their life. Nothing happens. Nothing moves forward. Soon things seem to stagnate.

Procrastination can become a very bad habit. Many people see how other people are progressing much faster than they are. Sometimes it doesn't affect them because in their minds they are doing all they can. Often there comes a moment of truth when they start to think: "Why not me? Why is everything happening for them and nothing is happening for me?" "Why do some people have all the luck and I don't?"

This is the moment when people start seeking someone to blame instead of just taking responsibility and begin to understand it was what they did or did not do that got them where they are today. Either they start blaming the world for everything that is wrong, or they seek help.

Observing a person's development thru their life span is amazing to behold. The question remains; are they willing to progress? It is so easy to blame others for things that happen in your life. Most often the mistakes are made by you and you alone. Perhaps you feel it was all caused by politics, by your colleagues or a family member, spouse, the neighbors, the circumstances or your job. An ancient Vietnamese saying says "point with one finger to the problem. Look at the hand and open it. Three fingers point in your direction." This is absolutely true.

For the most part we are the cause AND the effect. We have the ability to change things. We have the opportunities to alter the course of our lives at any time. "It's never too late to reset the sails."

Sure, you can disqualify yourself for the game of life and continue blaming the world for everything. Or you stop, access, plan and act. Access your situation. Make a progressive plan. Act up on your plan and do it fast. Failing to plan is planning to fail. A personal development plan is a must for every person. None of us are born with all the knowledge in the Universe. We learn the game of life step by step. Sometimes you may try to take a shortcut to success. Running before you can walk can make you stumble. You must find out what you don't know before you can "know it."

Self improvement can start with a simple development plan. Planning is a crucial factor in life and again this comes with making the right decisions. The good thing about planning is that you do not have to make those decisions on the spot without careful planning. When you plan ahead you can take control of the big picture.

You can ask others for advice. Listen to what they tell you and make up your own mind then a decision based on enough input. In Ireland they have a great saying about the seven P's; "Proper Planning Prevents Potentially Poor Performance." We are better off to plan ahead. This can be done with anything we do in life.

Life is like a passenger train that travels from station to station. People hop on and off your train at every station. Some people stay longer just to get to the next station. You stay on board because it's your train. This is your opportunity train and this train only passes your station once during your lifetime. The opportunities come and go. You have to grab opportunities when you see them and when they present themselves to you.

Life is not a race, it's a journey. As long as you have set your goals anything can be reached. Life is a life-long journey of pleasure and joy. The joy is always there, all you have to do is dare to look at it and recognize it is yours to take.

You will enrich yourself more energy from the positives in life. No one desires the energy from negative elements in life. Energy is what helps you conquer the journey. It makes you able to endure during the good times and the bad and it will give you strength when you need it. No one can promise the journey will be easy. Claim your place in the world and enjoy the game of life at its best.
