Qigong Practice - Best Way To Happiness And Self Healing

By:

The Term Qigong is rooted from the Chinese word Qi or Chi which means life energy and Gong which means daily effort.

Qigong is a terrific way of self healing and maintaining internal harmony. It has been used for physical and mental exercises by the Chinese for about 5,000 years and is gaining popularity among the Western countries. In fact, more and more people are using it to effectively control pain and hypertension among other diseases.

The Qigong system focuses on synchronizing breathing with every body movement and guided visualization. It is intended to make one's body, mind and spirit to be in harmony thus, maintaining good health.

Moreover, Qigong promotes circulation of blood to vital organs like brain, intestines and endocrine glands. This increased in circulating blood results to more secretion of hormones which improves sexual drive and stamina. Qigong also aids in digestion leading to moving one's bowel with ease and enhancing detoxification.

Some scientists have proven through brain scan that practicing Qigong leads to happiness as evidenced by increased brain activities in left prefrontal lobes. According to them activities in this part of the brain shows that a person is happy, less upset and less infuriated compared to other person.

Mostly, Qigong is the act of using Qi or Chi for different purposes such as healing and acquiring happiness. Learning Qigong is easy because everybody is born with Qi and everyone has the potential to use it provided that one should practice developing the Qi on a regular basis.

My motivation to do Qigong started when one day I watched Sifu Jones doing the striking and graceful qigong movements. The flexibility of the body movements encouraged me to obtain up these exercises which I felt I clearly needed to keep myself supple and balance. As working in a busy and stressful environment most of the time, I found qigong has also helped me to overcome stress and anxiety. I enjoy assisting Sifu teaching the juniors and also it is a pleasure to see students progress and has benefited from these exercises.

Qigong is really a wonderful way of self healing and maintaining internal harmony. I have attended several sessions from then on. I feel very positive that I will benefit long term. Having a very stressful job, I find it difficult switching off at the conclusion of the day, I also wake up in the early hours, worrying about the next day. Sifu Jones is extremely dedicated and an inspiration to all.
