Q-tips May Cause Tinnitus

By:

An ear problem defined as 'ringing in the ears" otherwise called as Tinnitus. And having such ear problem is the cause of hearing loss, medications, old age and extreme loud sounds in the environment. Other terms that are also referred to this are hearing sizzling, humming, buzzing, whistling, blowing and roaring sound.

Q-tips are also called cotton swabs or buds. These objects are used to remove ear wax, clean cuts and may be used to remove make ups. Q-tips were sophisticatedly designed for our ears to reach through the auditory canal and take out or remove excess wax that may have been accumulated.

One of the causes that may have not been closely looked upon as part of cleaning the ears is using Q-tips. Using Q-tips for cleaning the auditory canal can cause damage if it is not done correctly. Traditionally, many have practiced to do this but are now opposed by medical professionals who discovered of the severe damage and numerous effects to the ears and what it can do to one's normal hearing.

Q-tips may only be a cause of an ear problem if it is not used properly. The excess wax that has been building up in one's ear is removed using Q-tips. The problem arises when one inserts Q-tips deep into the auditory canal to clean out stored ear wax, this can cause more damage than actually removing the ear wax. If one touches the ear drum because of the insertion of Q-tips deep into one's auditory canal severe effects may alleviate and cause more problems than one can anticipate like for instance having permanent hear loss.

To properly remove ear wax from the ears, simply use a washcloth. The outside part of the ear should only be cleaned with the cloth. Q-tips may also be used but not to insert it in the ear. Hearing problems like tinnitus can be avoided when one just follows the simple reminders in properly cleaning the ears using Q-tips.

Hearing is one of the most important parts of our senses because it is our orientation to keeping us balance when we walk or stand and it is also what we use to communicate well with others. And to take care of our ears we should always be aware of what we do to it. Environmental factors like loud music and unwanted noise should also be avoided to help prevent hearing disorders.
