One of the most important parts of paper making is getting the stock prep correct.
If the maximum amount of reject can be removed from the Pulper at the pulping stage, this allows the equipment further down the line to also run more efficiently. Below we outline an efficient
Pulper Cleaning System from Croft Paper Machinery, advertisers on the globalpapertrade.com website.
The key components are used in many brown mills around the world with low consistency pulpers.
Trashex.
The Trashex evolved from an inefficient Pump which was developed nearly 20 years ago, it can pump up to 5% consistency.
The Trashex pump has to be connected to the Pulper body above the pulper screenplate, not lower than 200mm from the screenplate base.
The established facts are that this pump must re-circulate the pulper volume at least 10 to 20 times in 24 hrs in order to keep the pulper clean of debris.
A Trashex can pump any plastic sheets up to 200mm square, aluminium cans, old shoes, broken bricks, pieces of metal or leather and many other of the heavy rejects found in wastepaper.
How does it work ?
The Trashex takes a pulp from the pulper every 20 to 30 seconds, through an automatic
double-bladed NP 300 mm valve . This valve operates on a Timer which can be programmed for the following time frequency : SHUT - 20 to 30 seconds, OPEN - 5 to 10 seconds. This timing can be adjustable to suit any local condition. The Trashex then pumps the pulp to a Trommel
The Reject Trommel:
All the pulp from the pulper, together with rejects, are pumped by the Trashex up to a Trommel which separates the fibres from any debris, through the Trommels perforated drum, perforations can vary from 6 mm up to 16 mm . It is good practice to divert the pulper dilution water via the Trommel to guarantee a good washing process and strongly reduce any fibre loss.
