Do you ever say that you cant see the future? Do you feel like you are just kind of being pushed around by the universe? Do you feel like you have no real say over what happens to you on a day-to-day basis? Todays Daily Quote is from George Washington Carver. Since he was born a slave, no one really knows on what day his birthday actually falls. So today, January 10, 2012 was chosen as his birthday.

Mr. Carver was a great inventor and teacher. I think hes best known for the thousands of uses he found for peanuts. The Southern part of the United States grew cotton. Then the boll weevils came. They are bugs that destroyed the cotton crops. With most of the cotton crop all over the South destroyed, Mr. Carvers work in finding other sources of food and crop saved many Southern families from starving. He is the one who knew that peanuts could replace the cotton crop and keep the farmers alive and farming. His work was not limited to peanuts. He worked with hundreds of foods and products. He made things better. He found easier ways to do things. I bet he never said he cant see the future. He envisioned so many new products to help so many people. Much of what we use today is attributed directly to George Washington Carver.
He said the following:

Where there is no vision, there is no hope.

Mr. Carver knew that many Southerners could not see past the destruction of the Civil War and the boll weevils. Many Southern people were saying how they cant see the future being any better and how the South was destroyed. Mr. Carver gave them an alternative to cotton. Peanuts are now grown all over the South and exported all over the world. There are boiled peanut stands every where where I live and I rarely walk past a bag myself.

For today, stop with the fears and worries about how you think you cant see the future. You are well. You are provided for by a higher being. You were not put here to wither and die slowly. Yes, we all have times of troubles. We all have times of great sorrow. You are always provided for and you always have something to cling to in those times. You may just have to look for it. You are not being pushed around. Open your eyes, see your vision for the future and focus on that. You cant see the future objectively from where you are, but you have to trust your gut instincts that you are okay. Inhale. Exhale. Right now, you are okay. Just like the Southerners who thought they were going to starve to death and then were brought the peanut, you too will have your peanut come to you. For now, look at what you do have to be grateful for and focus on those things instead. All is well.
