Providing Dignity In Care.

Something that seems to be rather frequent in the news at present is the elderly. They seem to get a hammering in the news and by others. Im not going to lie I have been known to curse them for going to collect their pensions during the lunch hour... something Im still sure they do on purpose. But seriously, why is society so cruel to the older generation? Young people seem to think they mean nothing lets face it this couldnt be further from the truth, society is built upon the past work of others after all. Statistics suggest that by 2030 590,000 Britons will die every year, more than half of whom will be the elderly. Only 1 in 10 will die in their sleep and not due to a terminal illness. The prospect of such a death is painful is not something I wish to dwell on but how do we insure these people who are terminally ill and elderly die with dignity and within a comfortable environment? Weve all read the horror stories of some care homes leaving the elderly to sit in their own excrements for days on end and dont even engage in conversation with them.
