Proven Methods To Stop Your Pup From Barking And Irritating Your Neighbors

By:

Does your puppy drive your family nuts with his barking? Have you tried to do everything to get him to stop but nothing is helping?

Trust me, I have been there too so I completely appreciate your irritation with this kind of behavior. Due to my own puppy's constant barking, I chose to investigate why most dogs bark and try to get rapid and highly effective techniques to stop this aggravating behavior before I was convicted of disturbing the peace!!

Fortunately, my trusted associate, Daniel Stevens, shipped to me a copy of his top selling dog training guide, Secrets to Dog Training. The
timing could not have been more perfect! I'm not a dog trainer but I thought I knew a good deal about pet dogs before but his in depth guidebook helped me realize how much more I still needed to learn.

I'm pleased to report that my own puppy now is a very well-behaved pup thanks to the methods I have come to understand from Daniel's manual...which by the way has been acquired by over 217,000 dog owners worldwide. Not too shabby, I would say!

So now we shall be going through the main reasons why most dogs bark and what you can do to stop this behavior in your own pet dog.

A lot of pet owners appear to want their pet dogs to quit barking, period: a good dog is a quiet dog, and the only occasion that barking is acceptable is when there's a guy wearing a black balaclava and stripy jail attire, holding a haversack labeled 'Swag', clambering in via your bedroom window.

Dogs don't see barking the same way. Your pet dog possesses a voice, precisely like you do, and she uses it just the way you do too: to say something to the people she loves. I do not feel that barking is always a terrible thing - in fact, I feel it's reassuring that my puppy would like to "talk" to me, enough so that I can overlook the loudness of her voice (which, in enclosed areas, can be positively overpowering) in favor of her desire to communicate with me.

It is the thought that counts (though I'm far more inclined to feel this way when my ears are sheltered securely behind industrial-quality ear-plugs). Sadly, the language barrier between pet dogs and humans is practically impenetrable, consequently it's our role to work with the context, the body language of our canines, along with the circumstances to understand the reason why our pet is driving us crazy barking.

So how come dogs bark? It is quite difficult to say (it really is like trying to answer the question, "So why do human beings talk?" in so many words). Let's begin by stating that dogs will often bark for various different reasons. A great deal of it is dependent upon the breed: some canines were bred to start barking only when a threat is observed (this is true of guarding breeds in particular, such as Rottweilers, Dobermans, and German Shepherds).

Some were bred to make use of their voices as a good tool of sorts, to help their masters in pursuit of a common target (sporting breeds for instance Beagles and Bloodhounds, trained to 'bay' once they scent the quarry), and many pet dogs just like to hear themselves talk (take virtually any of the toy breeds as an example of an exceptionally chatty doggie!). However, all breed particulars cast aside, there are many occasions where any kind of family dog is going to bark:

* She's bored to death
* She is lonely
* She's hungry, or knows it is time for a meal
* Something is not right / an individual is near the residence
* She's inviting you to play
* She meets another four-legged friend
* She needs the bathroom .

If your dog is barking for any of these reasons, it is not really reasonable that you should try to stop her: since of course, she is a dog, and it is the nature of all pet dogs to bark at times and in certain scenarios.

Presumably you understood this before you obtained your friend (and, if absolute peace and quiet had been high on your list of priorities, you would have obtained a pet rock, correct?). Certainly, sometimes barking is not simply unwarranted, it truly is positively unpleasant. Quite a few puppies will use their voices as a means of manipulation.
