Protect Your Synchronized Clock System With Wire Guards

By:

With the many updates and innovations found in today's systems integration, many businesses, schools, hospitals, and government organizations are making upgrades in their facility's clock system. Synchronized clocks have become one of the most common choices to upgrade, mainly due to the reliance placed on them. However, these clock systems are not inexpensive and more facilities are recognizing that it is important to protect their clocks.

Organizations look at the purchase of a synchronized clock system as an investment; something they will receive a return on in the future. When making this investment, these facilities may want to consider different types of protection for the product they just purchased. For clock systems, particularly, a great way to protect this investment is with the purchase of wire guards.

Wire guards are as simple as they sound. They are protective shields that prevent any harm to the clocks you have purchased. They are composed of steel rods welded together which are coated to protect the steel from corrosion. This simple, yet effective accessory is a practical purchase when installing a synchronized clock system.

There are a few scenarios where implementing wire guards to protect your clocks may be necessary.

1. Gymnasiums If your facility is equipped with a gym, wire guards are a necessity. While many of the clocks on the market have casing that can withstand the impact of a ball, most will not survive being knocked off the wall to a 20 or 30 foot drop. If a ball were to come in contact with a wire guard instead of a clock, this would not be an issue.

2. Outdoor Facilities Many facilities such as schools and medical homes have outdoor spaces with time displays. In this situation, the clocks may be exposed to inclement weather and debris that could cause harm to the clocks. With wire guards, clocks with be able to accept a blow from falling branches or flying objects.

3. Factories/Machine Shops In these types of facilities, the activities performed on a daily basis can pose a threat to the well being of the clocks in the building. Many factories use forklifts and large materials for their operations that may come in contact with the wall clocks. When this heavy material comes in contact with a wire guard, no damage is incurred by the clock.

When deciding to make an investment as important as the purchase of a new clock system, protecting your investment is equally as important. If the clocks in your facility are exposed to these situations or if you see the importance of protecting your investment for other reasons, including wire guards with the purchase of your synchronized clock system is a wise decision.
