Protect Your Loved Ones By Buying An Air Purifier

Studies done by the American Environmental Protection Agency has revealed that over 170 million people in the United States currently live in places where the level of smog in the air is poisoning their bodies.

You can blame the number of factories that emit smoke out of the chimneys, the volume of cars on the road, smoking and other things that makes it hard to breathe clean air.

Although there are laws and other measures in place to try and lessen this, it is not enough because there is no such thing as an airtight home.

The only way you can protect your loved ones is by buying an air purifier. These operate just like an air conditioner because it captures the air, filters it and then releases this back into the house.

There are two main types of air purifiers. The first is called a HEPA filter while the other is called an ionizer.

HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate uses a fan to suck the particles inside then keeps it there until it is time to remove the filter. This has been around for quite some time and is unnoticed in commercial planes given that this is what maintains the oxygen levels in mid-air.

This type of air purifier is very effective against animal dander, pollen, mold spores and dust. It can also remove smoke and harmful kinds of bacteria up to .3 microns in size. The only drawback is that it can only do so much.

This is the reason that a another type of air purifier is launched into the market called an air ionizer. The big difference is that it does not use a fan to get the job done because it releases negative ions into the air to capture the harmful ones then sticks to it making it fall harmlessly on the ground.

Studies have shown air ionizers are able to kill particles that HEPA filters cant. You dont have to replace anything since all you have to do is wipe it using a paper cloth or just rinse it with water. Its limitation however is the fact that it cannot remove the scent of chemicals or odors in the air, which can make a person, think twice of buying one or the other and in the end, get both.

Before you buy an air purifier, here are a few things you should think about. First, the size of the machine. There are portable, light weight units around that can do the job so you should read in the label up to how many square feet it can clean in an hour.

Second, you should check how much power it consumes. You can find one that only uses 10 watts of electricity, which is more than enough to the job.

Lastly, will be how much it costs. You can find an air purifier for around $200 to $2400.

An air purifier can make the air cleaner therefore try to buy one so you can protect your loved ones against air pollution.
