Prospects Of Home Appliance Recycling Is Large

With time going, more and more old home appliances were eliminated. The market prospects of recycling home appliances are large, but it is lack of market regulation.

Recently we get news from Panasonic that Panasonic, Hangzhou Earth Environmental Company and other four companies will set up a new joint venture factory in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province to take part in the recycling and disposal of waste home appliances. Panasonic and Hangzhou Earth Environmental Company invested 35% respectively. The company had a total investment of 121.7 million yuan. The construction scale is to hande 1 million units of waste home appliances. It was planed to be built and put into trial operation in the first half of 2012. This is the first time that a Japanese home appliance maker carries out recycling business in China
.
Previously, Haier, Changhong, TCL and several companies have set up home appliance recycling companies with large scale. Panasonic is the first Japanese company that set up recycling projects of homeappliances in China.

This reporter has learned that the joint venture will focus on 5 categories of products (TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and computers), buy home appliances from the waste recycling companies, using Japan's advanced technology and equipment of home appliances to carry out recycling demolition solution processing. The recycling resources will be provided to the smelting company, resin regeneration companies and other manufacturers.

Related statistics show that since 2003, China's 5 million television sets, 4 million refrigerators, 6 million washing machines are written into the scrap list every year. And the update of electronic products is much faster.

There is no doubt that the giants eye on the market prospects of home appliance recycling business in China. But because the multiple factors that the policy is imperfect, the amount of waste household appliances can not meet the production, they are facing tasteless difficulties.

The Deputy General Manager of the company, Xu Ke, said, appliance recycling industry has a very bright future. Take Zhejiang for example, from 2009 to 2010, Zhejiang recycled a total of 2.9 million units of waste recycling appliances. Thanks to the country's trade-in policy, this number will continue to grow. The joint venture is designed to deal with1 million units of waste household appliances. But the problem is that there are five appliances recycling business in Zhejiang, which took away a lot of share.

Analysts say that the state should introduce laws and regulations to standardize the process of recycling household appliances to avoid the dismantling of discarded appliances or refurbished into a small workshop and avoid the environmental pollution.
