Pros And Cons Of Invisalign - Is Invisalign Worth The Cost?

If you are looking for the ideal way to straighten your crooked and uneven smile, you may be thinking about using the Invisalign system. However, it is important to ensure you research the many pros and few cons of this method. First, you must find a dental professional who is certified to administer and oversee Invisalign treatments.

The biggest advantage to using the Invisalign system is the fact that it is invisible. When you consult a qualified dentist, they will create a series of trays to gradually straighten your teeth. These trays are made of a clear material that is very difficult to see.

They are also removable, which means that you may eat virtually anything you want without having to clean food from your tray after each meal. This feature also allows for better hygiene, as you can clean them as often as you like.

Trays are changed every two weeks, creating gradual movement in your teeth. This can create some discomfort, but is usually very minor and does not last more that the first few days with a new tray.

Invisalign can address a whole host of dental health issues, such as widely spaced or crowded teeth. However, severe bite issues can not be remedied with this system. In this case, your dentist may suggest traditional braces with rubber bands or headgear to solve debilitating bites.

Severely overcrowded teeth may also require a different method of teeth straightening. Depending on whether you have teeth behind others or overlapping extensively, your dentist may still suggest a different method than Invisalign.

Another consideration will be the cost of the Invisalign system. It does tend to be a bit more expensive than traditional braces, but each individuals situation will be different. The length of treatment and number of trays required during treatment will affect each Invisalign patients cost tremendously.
