Prevent Feet Corns - 3 Essential Strategies

By:

Although sometimes the subject of jokes, feet corns can in fact often be painful and distressing. Every year over 150 million people get corns though only a fraction of this number seek professional help. As prevention is always preferable here are 3 essential tips to prevent feet corns.

1) Stop wearing shoes that pinch or bind.

Your choice of footwear is crucial to long term foot health. Make sure that you wear open toe sandals or comfortable shoes with a wide toe box. Most corns are caused by pressure or friction from tight - ill fitting shoes.

The most practical and effective measure you can choose to take to prevent or reduce the discomfort of corns, is to change your shoe style or take the pressure off your corns, so that they will go away on their own.

Try to avoid shoes that do not have a natural shape or contour to them. Shoes are really supposed to fit the shape of your feet. If you examine shoes and they appear to be overly tight and thin, then be aware that a likely result of wearing them is corns and bunions. Go for comfort and fit over fashion - your feet will thank you!

2) Wear clean dry socks every day.

If your feet experience continued moisture then this will in turn result in an eroding effect and likely subsequent foot problems. Skin really does need an element of natural toughness - when this begins to lessen then the result can be the formation of bunions and feet corns.

Also, an excess of moisture can both promote athlete's foot and the creation of foot odor - so clean dry socks on a daily basis are highly recommended to promote long term foot hygiene and health

3) Go barefoot indoors where ever possible

It is salient to realize that if you could go barefoot every day of your life, you would not experience the discomfort of corns. this may not be not really practicable for most of us in modern life, but we can take the opportunity, for example when at home to go barefoot whenever possible.

This provides a natural healthy break for your feet and promotes good foot health.

Foot Corns can be uncomfortable, but there is a great deal that can be done to prevent them occurring. A little care and attention for your feet, based on the above tips and suggestions will help you avoid this painful condition
