Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel Resort Launches "bubblemakers" Scuba Programme For Kids

By:

The Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa has launched a new scuba diving programme for children that will help them explore the magnificent underwater world of Cancun.

During scuba diving holidays at this fantastic Cancun hotel and resort, children aged eight to nine years old will be able to take part in the PADI-certified Bubblemakers programme where they will receive full scuba diving training from certified instructors at the resorts Five-Star PADI dive centre, Scuba Du.

As part of the new programme, children will take part in a two hour session on land where they will learn how to use the scuba diving equipment and soon after that they will then enter the turquoise crystal-clear waters of the section of the Caribbean Sea that belongs to Mexican sea territory. The children will dive down to a depth of six metres with the instructors and they will have the chance to get up close to some of the worlds most breathtaking marine species such as colourful fish, crabs, hawksbill turtles and vibrant coral gardens along the worlds second largest coral reef system.

Antonio Madrazo, the manager of Scuba Du, said: Its a great opportunity for kids to experience the wonders of diving alongside older siblings and parents who are already certified to scuba dive.

The Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa is situated on the island of Cozumel on the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico; one of the worlds leading scuba diving destinations.

The luxury resort is a fantastic choice for families planning scuba diving holidays due to its family-friendly accommodation and facilities and its idyllic location upon half a mile of white sandy beach just steps away from the magnificent coral reef system.

The Bubblemakers programme costs $72 per child and children aged 10 and above can take part in Scuba Dus Discover Scuba Diving course.

There are plenty of activities to entertain guests of all ages, from snorkelling and scuba diving adventures, to golf practice on the resorts putting green.

Kids will find a variety of fun and educational activities at the Chiqui Club, while parents can indulge at the 6,500-square-foot Mandara Spa where there is a wide selection of luxurious treatments that feature traditional Mayan techniques and natural ingredients.

While visiting the island of Cozumel, diving enthusiasts can choose to explore the underwater world at even greater depths onboard the 48-passenger Atlantis submarine. The vessel travels 100 feet beneath the surface of the ocean on a two-hour round trip to the breathtaking Chankanaab Reef.
