Pregnancy Stages Tackle Them As And When They Come

By: Shailesh Smith

So, youve discovered you are pregnant! After the initial happiness, shock, surprise, anger, elation, bewilderment, panic, etc., have subdued, its time to sit back and relax. Pregnancy is one of the most difficult as well as eventful times in a womans life. It is therefore important to be prepared for different stages of pregnancy, so that you can tackle them as and when they come.

A number of women get into the habit of excessive reading when they are pregnant. This is quite expected, as they feel the need to be informed, lest they get into panic mode when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.

Pregnancy is primarily divided into three stages First, Second and Third Trimesters.

First Trimester
This stage stretches from conception and fertilization through to the twelfth week of pregnancy. During the first three months, your babys heart will start beating; his umbilical cord, fingers and toes and a few other vital organs start forming; and above all, the fetus starts moving although you may not be able to feel it as yet.

Common Health Concerns during Pregnancy Stage I
Exhaustion
Morning Sickness
Dizziness & Nausea
Frequent Urination
Tender Breasts
Constipation
Heartburn

Second Trimester
During the second trimester, the baby continues to grow inside you. Your baby starts flexing and kicking; movements you start feeling only by the end of this stage. Fat accumulation begins in this trimester, which is also characterized by development of fine body hair, skin, taste buds, lungs, etc. of your fetus. Most women regard this stage as the most pleasant stage of pregnancy.

Common Health Concerns during Pregnancy Stage II
Constipation
Bleeding Gums
Backache
Mild Swelling

Third Trimester
Probably the most difficult stage of your pregnancy, as your baby grows the most during the last three months. The movements and kicks become quite prominent now, with many of them even leaving you breathless at times. The baby opens his eyes, starts detecting light, and even starts sucking during this stage. As rapid growth continues, your baby prepares itself for the final journey through the birth canal. This stage ends with the entire process of labor and delivery.

Common Health Concerns during Pregnancy Stages III
Heartburn & Indigestion
Shortness of Breath
Back Pain
Leg Cramps
Swelling
Nosebleeds & Bleeding Gums

All Pregnancy Stages come with their own set of complications, issues, and revelations. However, you need not worry too much. Not all women experience troublesome times when they are pregnant.
