Power Problems In India

India has an installed power capacity of approximately 150 MW according to the recent study in the year 2009. The power demand is expected to reach new heights in the coming years. Electricity failure is a common sight which we see every day. According to a study of M A I T (Manufacturing Association of Information Technology), due to power failures there was a loss of around Rs 440 billion in 2008-09. There are millions of people who get just few hours of access to electricity daily. There is no particular person to blame for this appalling electricity crisis. We are heading towards darkness gradually. There need to be a permanent solution to compensate all the loses which we faced in current times. We need a growth of at least 9 per cent per annum to meet the power demand of our economy. At this rate we are bound to face crisis.
More than 10% of villages of the states like Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh still dont have proper electricity facilities. The pace at which the population is increasing, our electricity consumption is also increasing. We definitely need the support of power protection devices. However, if we feel that a rapid growth can bring ecological imbalance then we make use of solar power protection devices.
