Porsche Used Cars- The Boxster

Porsche used cars like the Boxster are a very popular sports car to buy used. This is the motor companys entry level vehicle in there great line of models. I guess you could say its the cheap mans version of the 911, or how I like to call it a girls Porsche. Either way Porsche saw a need for consumers who could not afford there more expensive models, to be able to buy a less expensive sports car. Never the less its still a Porsche and has remained a popular brand as an entry level vehicle in there line of sports cars. Will take a look at the Boxster from 1997 to around the mid-2000s as a used vehicle to buy.

Porsche Boxster used cars have a very basic interior to it and being the cheapest model to buy new, Im sure Porsche didnt spend too much time on the drawing board when it came to interior design. The one Boxster i looked at was from 2003, it was painted Canary yellow and its interior color was a charcoal grey. It comes with nice leather seats, but the speedometer, engine instruments and the center console screams boring! I thought the interior of the vehicle is very blah.

I found three fuel statistics for the various models. The first stat comes from their earliest model in which it had a fuel rating of 12.3-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 8.2-litre, per 100 km, for highway driving. For later models I had two stats, the base package had a fuel rating of 11.7-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 7.4-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. Their best model had a fuel rating of 12.8-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 8.2-litre, per 100km, for highway driving.

There are various engine sizes from 1997 to the mid 2000s. The first engine was a 6-cylinder, 2.5-litre, 201 horsepower engine. In 2000 Porsche added the Boxster S to the line up, this had a 6-cylinder, 3.2 litre, 249 horsepower engine. In 2003 the base model increased its horsepower to 228 and the S model increased its horsepower 255.

Lets talk of the pros and cons about the Porsche Boxster as a used vehicle to buy:

1-There are problems with the liners cracking in there cylinders.
2-The radiator can get clogged from debris on the road.
3-I could not find any crash test results done on the Boxster.

If youre going to buy this model it has been suggested in different forums i visited, that you buy newer models because of the mechanical upgrades to the engine.
