Planning A Hen Night To Remember

By:

The Hen Night is an institution: marking a single woman's last 'night of freedom' before marriage. It is a time for the bride to be to assemble her friends and celebrate the imminent union with her partner. More importantly: it's a downright sensational night of cheeky fun, silly behaviour and downright wholesome naughtiness! Although pretty much any 'girl's night out' is destined to be a hoot regardless of the preparation: it is important to plan the event where possible to ensure it all runs smoothly and with minimal need to do anything other than enjoy yourselves on the night.

As the bride to be is inevitably up to her eyeballs in stress fine tuning all preparations for the wedding, it is generally considered the responsibility of her friends to plan the hen night. This can be a rather daunting task, but if the job is broken down into smaller tasks and shared amongst a few plucky volunteers it is made considerably easier.

The first and most important aspect of planning a hen night is striking the perfect balance between 'who?' and 'when?'. It is an unfortunate reality of modern life that it is near impossible to find a date convenient to everybody the bride would like to spend her last blast of freedom with. In order to achieve the highest chance of success you should plan in advance...well in advance. By starting the preliminary planning a few months before the big day it is easier to establish the most all-round convenient day and gives those who should be working the time to book it off in advance.

Next, both in terms of importance and chronological order is booking the perfect venue. If you're opting to go for a sit down meal to kick off proceedings then book the table as soon as the guests and date have been confirmed to avoid disappointment, the same goes for activities, transport and hotel rooms if the hen party is to be spread over more than one day: or taking place in another part of the country (or world!). It goes without saying that the nature of the activities or places to be attended is tailored around the bride's wishes and tastes as opposed to your own.

Having finalised the attendees, the date and the venue(s) all that really remains is making sure that you all get the most from the experience. The little touches can make all the difference and truly stamp 'Hen Party' on proceedings. From matching Hen Party Sashes through to naughty treats and hen party dares: hen party novelties are a must have- however respectable the surroundings. With all of these things set-up in advance: all that's left to do is have an incredible time!
