Physical, Planchette And Transfiguration Mediumship

There are many different types of mediumship that a person can experience. In this article we will give a brief outline of the different types of mediumship and some pointers.

Writing mediumship
Writing mediumship is where a persons hand comes under the control of a spirit. The spirit will typically write a message to someone that is in the room or answer questions. Writing mediumship is also sometimes called automatic writing. When this type of mediumship occurs the medium will usually go into a light to heavy trance. The mediums arm will become numb and at this time the spirit is ready to start writing. If writing mediumship is new to the medium it may at first be hard to read the writing. In time with the spirit and medium working together the writing will become clear and readable. When asking a spirit questions you do not need to verbally ask the question, but instead can write the question on a piece of paper and place it in the mediums hand. Writing mediumship is considered one of the more difficult forms of mediumship. It is possible to practice writing mediumship by yourself. All you need to do is place yourself in a relaxed, clear frame of mind and have a pen and paper ready to write with. A computer keyboard can also be used for writing mediumship. You can then ask a question or ask for a sign of the spirit presence. It is unlikely that you will get results on the first attempt, but there is always that possibility.

Drawing mediumship
Drawing mediumship is very similar to writing mediumship except a picture is drawn instead of words on a paper. A person can use many different tools for the drawing, including pencils, crayons, paints or whatever they like. Even if the medium has no artistic ability they may be surprised to discover the spirit is drawing some wonderful things through them. Of coarse drawing mediumship has limitations as far as the communication possibilities, that is why writing mediumship is usually preferred.

Planchette
Planchette is a form of writing mediumship where a small board with wheels is used. A pencil is placed in the board and the mediums hands are lightly rested on either side of the board. When a person first begins to use a planchette, the planchette will first move slowly. This is the spirit learning to work through the mediums body. As time and experience develop, the planchette can move very rapidly. Once a person and the spirit become used to planchette writing, questions can be asked. As in all forms of mediumship the medium may find that this is something that comes very easy for them or planchette may be a form of mediumship that will take practice.

Healing mediumship
Some people are prone to the art of healing and may be drawn to this form of mediumship. If this is the case the spirit will usually guide the mediums hands over the proper area to be healed and do the necessary work. When practicing healing mediumship the medium should focus his thoughts on the health and vitality of the individual that is to be healed.

Materialization mediumship.
Materialization mediumship is where a spirit can draw enough energy from the medium to actually appear in a ghost like body. This is a very rare and uncommon form of mediumship that takes a medium with great skills. Usually the spirit will take on the appearance of what they had in earthly life. When the spirit first starts to appear it may look like balls of light or clusters of firefly's. As the materialization continues the body will form and may not have arms or legs. With practice the body will soon appear and become recognizable as the person they where in earth life.

Slate writing mediumship
Slate writing mediumship is where a small chalk board is used. The chalk board is placed on the table along with chalk in front of the medium. The chalk board and chalk are never touched by the medium or anyone else in the room. The chalk and board can even be locked in a box to ensure no one tampers with them. The spirit will draw on the energy of the medium to perform the writing. When performing slate writing mediumship it is best to have the surface that is going to be written on turned face down on the table. A question should be written on a piece of paper and placed on the chalk board. Surprisingly this is one of the easier forms of mediumship.

Transfiguration Mediumship
Transfiguration Mediumship is where a medium goes into a light or deep trance state. When in this state and after a spirit has been contacted, the face of the medium takes on the characteristics of the spirits face when they where alive. In this transfiguration mediumship the medium may even take on the mannerisms and vocal qualities of the dead person. This is the spirit temporarily occupying the body of the medium, which causes this type of transfiguration mediumship.
