Phuket Is Your Entrance To Heaven On Earth

The lively and lovely Phuket nightlife is also of great note, especially considering the colorful, million-dollar bar scene of Patong. Thailand's Phuket is a wonderful island paradise that offers a peerless mix of great value accommodation from hotels like Kata hotels Phuket, superb hospitality, the most exhilarating speedboat trips, global-standard championship courses for golf, white palm-lined beaches, serene cruises at the Phang Nga Bay, world-class diving at the Andaman Sea, exciting eco-adventures in the most bio-diverse of tropical forests, and perfect silky-soft sand. What more can you possibly ask for?

History

Phuket is located in the warm Andaman Sea waters on the Thai coastline of the Indian Ocean that's about eight hundred or so kilometers south of Bangkok. Before reinventing itself as a major tourist hotspot, Phuket used to derive its wealth from rubber and tin. It's also an island that enjoys a long, involved, and interesting history. For example, Phuket was one of the major trading routes between China and India, such that it was usually mentioned in many a foreign trader's ship log.

Recently, Phuket's top earning business has been tourism, which has made it into Thailand's most affluent region of sorts. Also, back in December 2004, Phuket's west coast was severely damaged and flooded by the infamous Indian Ocean tsunami, although very little evidence of the catastrophe remains on the province. At any rate, Phuket is currently experiencing great renown and prestige as one of the best travel destinations in existence thanks to its beaches as well as its variety of tourist attractions both manmade and natural.

Beaches

You will never run out of beaches to visit when you're in Phuket. If there's such a thing as a beach capital, then Phuket Island would be it. "Beaches galore" doesn't begin to describe how many beaches are available in this ideal holiday destination. To give you a better idea, here are just some of the major beaches available in Phuket: Ya Nui Becah, Surin Beach, Pansea Beach, Rawai, Mittraphap, Laem Ka, Patong Beach, Nai Thon, Nai Yang, Nai Han, Ao Sen, Mai Khao (Sai Kaeo), Laem Sing, Kata Yai Beach, Kata Noi Beach, Karon Beach, Karon Noi Beach, Kamala Beach, Kalim Beach, Cape Panwa, and Bang Thao (Laguna Beach).

Climate

Phuket is celebrated for its mild to humid tropical climate throughout the year. March to early May is when the hot season comes along, and it's also incidentally the time of year where most tourists decide to visit this paradise on earth. Even during the summer monsoon season (which lasts from May to October), the entire day from morning to the afternoon remains sunny and clear save for evenings filled with scattered rain showers and the like. November to February is usually the season considered by locals as the cold part of the year. The western beaches are the best places for surfing for the majority of the year thanks to Phuket's mostly tropical climate.
