Personal Growth Helps You Clear Out So You Can Clean Up

By:

Have you ever heard the expression; "Chaos without is chaos within?" If you have no idea what that even means perhaps you should take a look around your immediate environment whether it be your home or office and observe how your living and working spaces look.

Is your home stacked with boxes of things you haven't seen for years or are your rooms so cluttered with "stuff" you get dizzy thinking about cleaning it up? There are people who live in a state of complete and utter chaos it can do nothing less than create chaos in their minds. This is the perfect time to begin researching Personal growth courses or even consider a Success Coach if only for a few months just to get yourself on the right track as fast as possible.

When I say "Clear out so you can clean up," I mean once your clear out the mess and chaos from your environment and your mind, you have opened up the gateway to "clean up" both successfully and financially. Out goes the bad, in comes the good.

There's even several television shows about "Hoarders," or people who just won't allow anyone to throw anything away because of some emotional fear that they may actually need whatever it is they are saving someday. It seriously gets into the ridiculous when a wrapper from a long-since eaten candy bar is coveted as if it were a valuable treasure. Of course these people have serious need of intervention and long-term counseling.

Naturally the people that fit into this category can't even consider the possibility of success since they have no control over their thought patterns or behavior. Many have lost marriages, their children and their homes because they are so "stuck" they actually become angry and go off into a complete melt-down if anyone tries to intervene and help them get out of the mess they're in.

Then there are those who go to work, their desks are neat, they dress appropriately yet they go home and lock themselves in a house full of junk and clutter so bad they can't even find the remote for the television.
For some it could be something deeply emotional, for others it is simply a rut they've allowed themselves to fall into and don't quite know how to begin changing the behavior. And that's exactly what it is, a behavior.

It's a habit that has gotten hold of them and it's sometimes easier to just keep doing the same old thing rather than leave their "comfort zone" long enough to take a close look at what they've created for themselves. It's very easy to fall into the trap of apathy and just put it off "until tomorrow.
If one continues to live a life surrounded by junk and piles of dirty clothes, books and dirty dishes spread all over your home, guess what your success quotient will be? ZERO! A successful person lives a life of order and cleanliness.

If you are doing a project for work and your home work area is a complete and utter mess, if you can't find paper, pens or an important document you stuffed into a drawer somewhere, how can you expect to build yourself into a personal and financial success?

Many folks who live lives of secret chaos don't even invite friends or relatives over to visit because they are so embarrassed by their living conditions. This group of people at least have the awareness and realization of how they are not really living a full life but just existing in world they truly know is not "who they really are." Yes, in the moment they are in a mess, yet with a bit of tweaking and some down and dirty facing the fact that changes must be made they can turn things around very quickly.

Believe it or not, there are professionals who are experts in coming in to someone's house or office and working with them for days or even a few weeks to assist and support them in finding the sweet spot where they can allow someone to take charge, get them on track and show them how to keep things in order with a complete commitment to never allow themselves to fall back into the trap of living with clutter.

For one thing, it isn't living when you fear someone will find out you're "that person" who has so little self-esteem or control they'd allow themselves to live in a proverbial garbage dump.

This is a tough pill to swallow, but your outside environment absolutely reflects what's going on inside, both mentally and emotionally. Having a clean, organized and nice looking environment can change a person's life in days.

A messy, cluttered and dirty environment declares to you and the world that you don't care about yourself and there is something in your life that is making you very unhappy. Lots of people who do live like this are many times physically unhealthy, too.

How about sitting down with a big yellow pad and pen and writing down how you feel? How do you feel physically? What in your life makes you feel sad? What makes you happy? Do you dread coming home because of what you're going to see when you open the door?

Really get to the heart of every feeling you can identify. Expand on feeling the feeling. How does it affect your life on a daily basis? How does each feeling impact your relationships with family and friends? Most important, how do your feelings impact YOU? Do you like who you are? How would your life look if it were perfect? Write until you can't write anymore. Get those feelings on paper then read what you've written again and again until you really "get" what's going on in your life.

Even if you can only afford a few hours help from a professional organizer, look in the phone book and find one and hire them for as many hours as you can afford. It will be well worth the small amount of money spent to get you moving fast instead of sitting around staring at the mess and putting it off even one more day.

It's time to get up and begin living the life you were meant to live.
Imagine going through your whole life ending up and old person still surrounded by a mountain of chaos and wishing you'd done something when you were actually entertaining the idea oh, so many years ago. Imagine what you missed by, dare I say it? Being lazy, complacent and never following through. Now that would be a shame to live to the end of your life thinking; "What if?"

There are so many books, CDs, DVDs and live workshops available for anyone who desires change in their lives. Understand that watching DVDs or listening to CDs or attending workshops on success will only work if you follow through. There are those who make self-improvement and personal development yet another "obsession" and get excited for a few days then put the CDs or DVDs away and forget about them and they become another dust collector among all the other stuff in your house.

Once you make the decision to change and improve your life, it's not for your family, friends or associates. It's for YOU! You are the one who will be living with your decisions and actions for the rest of your life, so you might as well choose success! What do you have to lose except all the time you could spend fighting yourself instead of giving in and going for the GOLD!
