Pepper Sprays For Sale-why They Are Carried By Police Officers

By:

Would you do me a favor? Seriously! The next time you see a police officer look on his utility belt and see if you can find this pepper spray. If you don't see it, ask him a few if he carries one. The answer will be yes he does carry one. It is a critical part of his self defense in the line of doing his duty.

Part of that is called the "continuum of force." The idea is to use much force as necessary to gain control of the situation without using deadly force. Pepper sprays have been proven for decades to be an effective nonlethal self defense product-so effective that police officers carry them for their own self defense. Not a bad endorsement.

But here's one more. Postal carriers for the USPS carry pepper spray for defense against dog attacks. What does that tell you?

Pepper sprays have been around for thousands of years in one form or another ever since the Chinese started throwing bags of hot spices at their enemies. Nowadays, pepper sprays are made up of a derivative of a hot pepper called cayenne pepper. Maybe you've heard of it. It is one of the hottest peppers in the world.

The basis of it is called oleoresin capsicum or OC. It causes intense burning of the skin. One person likened it to having boiling water thrown on your skin-ouch! It also causes choking, coughing, makes breathing difficult and the pain-intense pain.

The next time you're thinking about self defense product to use in a threatening situation to allow you time to get away your first choice ought to be OC spray. Think about it. If it's good enough for police officers and letter carriers why wouldn't it work for you?

When are you getting some?

If you think crime can only happen to the other guy you are wrong. The "other guy" is thinking the same thing and to him you are that "other guy". There is a reason why they call it self defense. You have to protect yourself, your family, your home and business!!

Chances are if you are reading this that crime has touched your life in some way or you consider yourself at risk. Take the next step and do something to protect yourself! Your life and safety is worth far more than the cost of self defense course.

If you are in the market for a self defense product look for quality, effectiveness, and a biggie-LEGALITY. Stun guns are not legal in some states. Pepper sprays have restrictions in some jurisdictions. Check with your local police department first before you get one.
