Peoria New Elantra Dealers Will Soon Offer Eco-friendly Navigation System

As gas prices continue to soar, the green trend is gaining more and more momentum. But for Peoria used cars drivers and the rest of us who dont already have a hybrid car, there is only so much we can do to lighten our environmental footprint. Sure we can study some green driving practices and opt to turn our cars into saunas by skipping the AC in the summer, but beyond buying a new hybrid car, we non-hybrid drivers cant make much of a contribution. Hyundai is taking the first eco-friendly step in accommodating non-hybrid drivers in their attempts to go green with the integration of advanced navigation technology.

Hyundai has partnered with NAVTEQ, the leading provider of maps, to develop a navigation platform that will allow both hybrid and non-hybrid drivers alike to do their part to help the environment. Traditional navigation systems provide the fastest and the shortest routes, which are certainly helpful but are not always the most fuel efficient. Hyundais software will take into account factors that other navigations systems do not including road geometry and the nature of the driving conditions. The technology will also predict the time and location of stand still traffic and will alert drivers of an alternative route.

To determine the influence the new software has on fuel efficiency, Hyundai conducted tests in the U.S. and Europe using the fastest route and then using the greenest route. When comparing the two routes, Hyundai found that opting for the greenest route saves at least 6% of fuel per trip when compared to the fastest route. The navigation system is expected to arrive in vehicles at your Peoria new Elantra dealership later this year, giving Peoria residents the option to reduce CO2 emissions without having to buy a hybrid.

Hyundai has not released specific details about the system and it is not yet known whether or not Peoria used cars will be able to have the technology installed. However, the automaker has said that they are looking to take advantage of any and every opportunity that allows drivers to engage in eco-friendly driving practices. Hyundai has stated that all C-segment cars will be integrated with the system which would allow Peoria new car drivers to take advantage of the eco-friendly technology.

Hyundai is also working with NAVTEQ to enhance the communication between your Peoria new Elantra dealership and customers in terms of the navigation system. Through NAVTEQs efforts, Hyundai dealers will be able to effectively communicate to their consumers how the system works and the benefits that it provides. Hyundai is also working on facilitating access and use of the system with online stores. Soon, in Peoria, used cars wont even have to go to the shop to get it installed as Hyundai offers the ability to order the technology online and upgrade the systems online.
