People's Reaction To Anthropomorphic Art

By:

This artist is able to paint pictures such as a pug, seemingly taking the part of a person accompanied with a coat, tie and high collar. Many people perceive this art as anthropomorphic. The artistic genius of this painter allows him to be able to fix old paintings even those present in the olden times.

This artist is original in the sense that he uses an animal's face to take that of what should be a human. This Belgian artist who was formerly an art restorer calls his works as aristochiens and aristocrats.

In fact, his animals, morosely dignified English setters, solemn, magisterial great Danes and snooty poodles in powdered wigs, are all too human and oddly suited to the old world frock coats, black satin dresses and frilly lace caps they wear.

Many people cannot even tell that the art work this person makes has been altered as he can blend pigments very well. The feel of his work still embodies that of an ancestral piece despite the alternations he has added.

The president of the American society said that if anyone described them to him, he'd say it was the worst idea he ever heard.

The animal society, auctioned off one of the artist's aristochiens at a fundraising event recently at a gallery in New York.

It was in a quaint art gallery complete with club chairs, tartan couches leather bound books and Sloan ranger's bibelots that the public got to see the 27 portraits in the collection of this artist. The gallery was indeed fitting for the showcase of his work.

In a telephone interview from Brussels where he lives, the artist said that he likes to keep his paintings distinguished and discreet.

There is really nothing crazy or forceful about his pieces but merely he finds them poetic. People who are not afraid to have a laugh are usually the buyers of is pieces says the artist.

In addition, it looks as if his work draws the aristo people of Europe and sometimes the royals. Royals are mainly the one who acquire his works and of course those who are fond of ancestral portraits. Many will be astounded to know that these works are somewhat chic in a way.

The artist gets his original portraits from many flea markets and even private homes to restore these and then add his touches.

Judging from the outfit choice of this German pointer, he can now pass for a French officer at the battle of Alma in a blue dress uniform with gold epaulettes, sword and an array of medals. Some portraits come with family crests. Usually the artist just hides the symbol or paints over it.

He even used his dog to cover up the faces of matrons in one of his paintings. There are also a couple of people who do not agree with what he is doing. According to the artists dogs have the right to be part of this work since they help put people in their places.

With dogs they are never a disappointment and are always there for you. There is always more to a dog that how he appears to be.

His portraits cost from $5,000 to $8,000. A professor of art history at the local university noted that anthropomorphic art is not new. For this professor the work of two famous painters as 18th and 19th century graphic artists and satirists utilize the same way of this artist.
