People In Network Marketing Need Real Leadership

In network marketing, I have witnessed leadership of all kinds over the years. I have seen the good side and also the not so good side of leadership. This includes everything from leaders with a lack of structure for building a network marketing business to leaders who simply did not care about anything else but padding their wallet even if it was at the expense of one of their downlines who had the same lofty aspirations they had. Ladies and gentlemen, if you don't remember anything else I say in this article remember this: Leadership must begin and end with a servant's mentality. Let's face it, when you are charged with the responsibility of leading people in any endeavor you must have people that want to follow you in order to be a success. The only way people will feel compelled to follow you is if you show that you have a sincere interest their success and are willing to serve them in any way possible. This is not to say that you as a leader should spend a great deal of time with people who have no intentions of building a business at the present time. Whether the reason is legitimate or not, you cannot put your family's dreams on hold to wait for them. However, what I am saying is that a true leader will do his/her best to keep an open line of communication with people and still be warm and welcoming to them even though they're not producing at the present time. One thing that most networkers fail to understand is that network marketing is not a sales business, it is a teaching and mentoring business. This business is not about numbers, it is about people and people should not be treated like numbers because they are not numbers, they are people! The stance that I am making is not originally mine, it is biblically based. "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant." (Matt 23:11) So just remember leaders, in order to be the best leader you can you must serve graciously.
