Party Down Those Last Few Days Of The Single Life

By:

For those who plan on tying the knot in the near future, the countdown to married life has begun. This is a time for celebration with friends and family so make the most of it. Throwing an engagement party is one of the numerous parties that will occur within the next several months. An engagement party can be an informal affair with a small group of people or a formal event.

Numerous factors play an important role in planning an engagement party such as budget, location, and who hosts the party. Before any decisions are made, it is important to establish a budget first and move onto the party planning afterwards. Once the budget is established, then selecting a theme is the next step.

The theme possibilities are unlimited when planning an engagement party. While there is no harm is sitting around with friend, family, and colleagues in an laid-back atmosphere with a few drinks, some people may prefer a more sophisticated, unique engagement party.

Games are always a welcome addition to any party and helpake it a special experience. Engagement party games should focus primarily on the couple getting married rather than random games that do not have anything to do with the theme.

True or False? - Before the engagement party, the couple should write short stories about different aspects of the relationship, such as how they met, where they first kissed, first date details, and other interesting tidbits on the relationship. Write two different versions of the stories, true and false. Guests will have to decide which story is true and which is false. The guest with the most correct answers wins.

The Name Game - This game will require fast thinking skills. Take the names of the bride and groom and see how many words guests can construct using only those letters in the names. Set a time limit and give out party gifts for all winners.

One game with a twist is the "Too Soon To Be Newlywed Game", which is played like the regular Newlywed game except the couple isn't married yet.

Famous Couple Games - Have each team write down the names of five famous couples living or dead on different pieces of paper in a bowl. The object of the game is to guess the names of the couples on the pieces of paper with limited guesses (think 20 questions). One couple can ask the other couple questions in the 20-question format.
