Partition Loss In Dual-boot System Due To Mismatched Alignment Boundary In Vista And Xp

By:

You can install Microsoft Windows Vista with Microsoft Windows XP in dual boot configuration. Most of the users generally go for a dual boot setup for getting better performance and compatibility with various applications, games and hardware resources with two operating systems. For installing Microsoft Windows XP with Vista, you must have a second partition and that is formatted. In such situations, you must completely backup your hard drive partitions and data prior to format the hard drive and check the status of backup. Incomplete or invalid backup might cause partition loss and need Partition Recovery to sort out the issue.

A different hard drive partitions scheme and process is used by Microsoft Windows Vista as used by Microsoft Windows XP. When you install Windows Vista on your computer system and create hard drive partitions for the same, an alignment boundary is automatically created by the LDM (Logical Disk Manager). The size of this boundary is generally 1 MB. Microsoft Windows XP hard drive partitions process also makes such type of boundary but some issues arise due to difference between the alignment boundaries of both operating systems.

The computer systems, which use dual boot configuration between Vista and XP face critical issues due to alignment boundary conflicts and require Partition Recovery to be resolved. Because of the difference in the alignment boundaries of both operating systems, when you attempt to create one more partition using XP, the Windows Vista hosted partitions become invisible and inaccessible. Thus you are recommended not to create disk partitions using Microsoft Windows XP in such configurations. At this point, the disk partitions that are hosted using Vista get lost along with the stored data.

However, the disk partitions lost in such way must be retrieved to get your critical data back. This is potential through powerful and advanced third party Partition Recovery Software. These tools use efficient scanning mechanisms to effectively scan whole hard drive and retrieve all of the lost, missing and inaccessible Windows hard drive partitions.

This software use simple and interactive graphical user interface and thus allow you to easily retrieve lost partitions and retrieve data from them. With read only and non destructive conduct, this Partition Recovery Software always perform safe and original recovery.
