It is shocking to me how many people wait until the absolute last minute to meet with a Palo Alto investment advisor so that they can make plans for how they are going to survive after retirement.

Soon after I got married, my husband and I had a conversation about some big dreams we had for the future, and I decided that if we wanted to make those retirement dreams come true we needed to open a special bank account and start setting aside money now while we're still young.

I knew that there were better ways to invest and make money, but I didn't feel very educated when it came to investments so I didn't really feel comfortable jumping into anything.

Along with being able to attend the seminar we were given a chance to have a free financial consultation as well as meet with an estate planner. With our retirement dreams in mind I quickly went to the website, registered, and paid the fee.

When my husband and I arrived at the seminar we discovered that we were easily at least 25 years younger than the other youngest people there, and as the class went on we became more excited as our peers in the room seemed to becoming more anxious.

We learned so many great ways to invest and prepare for our future together that it was almost hard to contain the excitement. I'd always heard that instead of working for your money you should make your money work for you, but now with a little bit of education that was a reality.

Sadly for the other people in attendance, investments take time to grow and they were becoming aware of financials trials coming in the future that up until then they had been completely oblivious too.

When we met with our financial advisor we reviewed what we had learned about investing with him filling in more details for us. He told us that since it was our monetary investment, we needed to choose the kind of investment made us the most comfortable. He helped us set up a mutual fund, a roth IRA, and some pretty nice whole-life life insurance policies.

While these might not be the investments for everybody, they sounded great to us. Now we're well on our way to reaching our retirement dreams. I would definitely recommend meeting with a Palo Alto investment advisor if you have big dreams for the future, but aren't sure about how you can accomplish them financially.
