Overview To Intermediate Drum Lessons

By:

Now having passed the beginners stage in learning how to play the drums, we come to the intermediate stage.

In this level of lessons you learn important necessities in becoming a great and cool drummer. The stepping stone in your career as a drummer will start in this stage. Here are the most important things to learn in taking the intermediate drum lessons:

1.Learning fast beats such as the drum roll which listeners find it cool and amazing when playing is the number one on the list. The drum roll is done by tapping all the drums for few times in a fast manner successively (maybe three to four times per drum).

Learning this is easier more than seen. The drum roll creates an illusion to viewers that it is like you are tapping the drums a hundred time a second, but it is not. Loosen your grip on the drumstick then tap all the drums a few times as fast as you can and end it with a bang on the gimbals. Practice this and the drum roll technique will be you specialty. Generally, the drum roll is played and used as exciting conclusions to rock songs.

2.The second is learning how to use the double pedals for the bass drum. The bass drum is the most important part of the instrument because it dictates the beat of the song. Some songs uses the bass drum more often that others and it is a bit stressful for your legs, that is why double pedals can be used to avoid this to happen.

Learning how to use double pedals can give you great control in the rhythm of a song. It also helps you to maintain easier the beat of a song and most of all, keeps you relaxed not stressing much your right foot. This technique is useful in long playing time so as a drummer, learning it is a necessity.

3.The third lesson is having your own hand technique. Being a drummer having a signature technique on banging the drums makes you more recognizable, but also makes you at the comfort of playing the drums.

Formal training will show you the many different variations of playing the drum but your comfort and satisfaction will ultimately be the catalysts to making you the best drum player you can be.

Experiment on drum beats and learn your own hand techniques and styles so that you could enjoy and satisfy yourself as a drummer.

The lessons that I have discussed could only be possible for someone who have played the drums for quite a while or for a beginner who wants to learn more and be good at playing the drums. If you have no experience yet, background or lessons on playing the drums before learning the above lessons may be impossible.

Mastering these techniques will be much easier taking lessons. You can study on your own and while it make take more time, it may also give you huge savings.
