Common terms that are used in outsource service firm. Here is a list of some commonly used outsourcing terms

Service provider:

A company that provides outsourcing services. Terms such as provider, vendor and partner are often used interchangeably.

Outsourcing:

1. Performance outside a firm or plant of a manufacture activity that was previously done inside.

2. Manufacture of inputs to a construct process, or a part of a process, in another location, especially in another country.

3. Another term for fragmentation.

Off shoring Service:

Off shoring is defined as the repositioning by an organization of a business process from one region to another. This could, in general, be an operational process. For instance, industrialized or supporting processes, such as marketing, accounting, etc. Nowadays, offshoring is courted by state governments also.

Globalization

It is the attempt to regularize consumer habits that has a say in the expansion of global markets, better efficiencies and profits. On a political front, it may be based on neo-liberal values and assumptions that provide a cause for this latest face called Western migration. This weakens the local economies, cultures of self-sufficient being.

In Sourcing:

The process of getting the finished goods and effective services where in-house resources (people, raw materials, etc.) are utilized.

Near shoring:

This process refers to sourcing of service behavior to a different region, a country with a low-wage rate that is comparatively close in some element of distance. The outsourcers expect to benefit from more than one of the following avenues of proximity: demographic, time specific, cultural, economic, linguistic or historical linkages.

Application service providers:

Organizations that remotely host software applications along with provide access to and use of the applications over the Internet.

Full service human resource outsourcing:

Outsourcing the full employee life cycle that includes both process and transactions orchestrated by a single provider). Related to Total Human Resource outsourcing.

Human resource outsourcing (HRO):

The normally established market-standard term for describing the eighteen different Human resources related outsourcing processes.

Market-driven sourcing:

A market-driven approach to sourcing means that the organizations sourcing decisions is in direct response to the capabilities of the marketplace of available providers. Normally the companys internal abilities are higher than the ones in marketplace of providers.
