Do you just love the cleansing feeling of relaxing in a rejuvenating sauna? Is there anything better than feeling your worries melt away with your aches and pains? Alternatively you might be interested to know how it may help promote good health. No matter what the reason is, you'll find that there is lots to choose from with regard to saunas.

You'll have a choice of two different types of saunas, even though both look similar. Coals are used to heat the first type of sauna. To get the sauna steam going, the owner just needs to douse the coals with water. You can typically find a bucket and ladle that comes with them.

A totally different type of sauna is a little more serious and is called a FIR infrared sauna. This type of sauna is nothing like the other type at all. They are heated with flat, long panels around the perimeter of the room. The panels all emit a type of light known as infrared radiation, which is very similar to the type of heat generated by the sun.

The FIR infrared saunas seem to have a more compelling list of features. First, they are more clean than the other type, second, they are more energy efficient, and third, opening the door doesn't kill the heat. As a matter of fact they are so appealing that manufacturers are now making them portable. A huge advantage of these is that they can be folded away so they take up less space.

Health benefits are another reason to get a sauna. Use of the sauna promotes sweating, which promotes the release of toxic buildup in your system. It helps your joints and muscles by soothing them and relaxing them. Chronic conditions like arthritis and other types of inflammation can be improved with regular sauna use. People can enjoy a longer, healthier life because of the benefits of sauna use.

Don't be surprised if you're surprised at how different FIR infrared saunas feel. They work completely differently than steam which transfers heat through the air. The air in an infrared sauna may not be that warm, but you certainly will be.
