Open Marijuana Dispensary

Get To Know Your Citys Officials And EDUCATE them

Yes, I said educate them. You are the expert and will know far more than they do. You need to show them the benefits your dispensary will bring. Sometimes this can require multiple meetings with City/County Officials and/or City/County government agencies.

Attend City Hall Meetings. Talk with the mayor. Bring in petitions from citizens in the city showing the need for this service in your community.

Most great examples of dispensaries like Harborside Health Center in Oakland, CA arent focused on just medical marijuana and churning as much profit as possible. But the funny thing is that in the end, this dispensary IS probably the most profitable one in existence.

You really want to be perceived as a place that is complete wellness center, offering valuable services to the community. You can start a charity and be really involved in the community. Many churches do this.

Bottom line is that if your community and elected officials just sees you as a place that sells marijuana, youre off to a bad start and I would have doubts to as your longevity. In that sense, you are nothing but just a legal drug dealer.
Bring up some of these great points and get them to see you are serious about bringing great benefit to the community. I would study this list.

Benefits of regulated dispensaries to communities include:

providing access for the most seriously ill and injured
offering a safer environment for patients than having to buy on the illicit market
improving the health of patients through social support
helping patients with other social services, such as food and housing
having a greater than average customer satisfaction rating for health care

Also, creating dispensary with regulations combats crime because:

dispensary security reduces crime in the vicinity
street sales tend to decrease
patients and operators are vigilant
any criminal activity is reported to police

Regulated dispensaries are:

legal under state law
help revitalize neighborhoods
bring new customers to neighboring businesses
not a source of community complaints

DISPENSARIES ACTUALLY REDUCE CRIME AND IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY

Some reports have suggested that dispensaries are magnets for criminal activity and other undesirable behavior, which poses a problem for the community. But the experience of those cities with dispensary regulations says otherwise. Crime statistics and the accounts of local officials surveyed by ASA indicate that crime is actually reduced by the presence of a dispensary.

Complaints from citizens and surrounding businesses are either negligible or are significantly reduced with the implementation of local regulations.

TALK TO YOUR LANDLORD

What you need to tell your prospective landlord is that you are opening up a wellness center. You also need to be the expert and inform them on federal and state law, as most wont even know this. Inform them that the risk is extremely minimal and almost every city has them.

You also need to tell your landlord about the benefits it will bring THEM. After all, your landlord is in business to make money.

Dispensaries are cash cows, and you can guarantee your landlord you will be the best tenant they have ever had. You can even make improvements to the facility, sign a guaranteed long term lease and be a valuable and profitable tenant for landlord.

Emphasize the benefits you will bring. This is MUSIC to your landlords ears.
Now this doesnt mean every landlord you visit will agree. You may even have to visit a few. But with diligence, you will succeed.
