Online Psychology School And Digital Signage Industry Predicts Moderate Growth

According to a collaborative effort between the North American Digital Signage Index and the Platt Retail Institute at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, the digital signage industry is expected to see moderate growth. The online psychology school of doctoral student interns analyzed data that was collected within the digital signage industry that is based upon leader sentiment and is supervised by mentors at the Platt Retail Institute (PRI).
In the third quarter of 2010, the index increased to 125.85 from 122.87 in the second quarter, which is a 2.43 percent rise. This increase is up from the 1.86 percent rise in the same index for the previous quarter.

The digital signage index near term was 138.02, which illustrated a 9.67 percent sentiment increase. This too was up from the previous quarter reading of 6.70 percent.

These numbers offer a great deal of insight because for the third quarter of 2010, they closely followed the trend of the U.S. economy. The digital signage index registered a 2.43 percent increase, while the GDP depicted a 2.50 percent increase. The near term digital signage index, which is used to predict future industry and business growth, also increased over the previous quarter; up 9.67 percent compared to just 6.70 percent. For the third quarter, advertising spending also increased to about 21.8 percent, which was a great reversal from the previous quarter's decrease of 14.90 percent.

Even with all of these positive gains, there was a still a bit of a hiccup in capital expenditures, down about 12.98 percent, and hiring, down about 2.24 percent. This simply means that businesses may be exercising a bit of extra caution and waiting to make sure things are truly back on solid ground.
Not only does the digital signage industry provide valuable information for the markets, the index also helps to bring in funds for very important causes. This was one of the main goals of doctoral students, along with students obtaining a psychology degree online, in the Business Psychology program at the Chicago School and interns at PRI. Since last quarter, PRI has made a small donation to a specific charity on the behalf of each industry representative who completes a survey. For the third quarter, PRI donated funds to the National Wildlife Federation to help with the cleanup efforts in the Gulf of Mexico. In the most recent quarter, the company donated to Paws Chicago; the largest no kill animal shelter in the city. As you can see, joint efforts such as this are quite beneficial for all parties involved, the business world, and the community at large.
