Nursery Wall Decals Mean This Isn't Your Mother's Nursery

By:

I remember that joyful moment when I first found out I was pregnant. Immediately visions of baby showers filled with ruffles and lace danced in my head. I couldn't wait to scour through baby name books and pick out the absolutely perfect name for what I was certain was going to be the perfect child.

Three months into my pregnancy I decided it is time to begin designing the perfect nursery (as all perfect children must have a perfect space to abide in). We spent a month cleaning out the spare bedroom, replacing carpet, ripping down old wallpaper and putting up new light fixtures. When the time came, we visited all of the local stores, looking for the perfect baby bedding. After months of searching, I finally found what I was looking for! Bedding that was brightly colored, but not overwhelming, that had an adorable pattern of stars that somehow avoided looking too babyish.

The bedding finally came in, and I was elated to set everything up in the nursery. It was all so perfect, except for those boring white walls. A simple solution would be to paint the room, but we had decided to not find out the sex of our baby before birth, so I was very hesitant to commit to a color. The bedding was a variety of colors, so depending on how I chose to decorate the walls, it could easily fit for a girl or boy. I set out with my mother to visit every home improvement store and baby boutique in town. We traveled far and wide, and then even further. I was presented with an endless parade of pastel bunnies, whimsical teddy bears and more circus animals than I cared to count. Don't get me wrong, they were all cute, but they just weren't me and they didn't match the baby's room.

A friend suggested I try searching online, and that is when I came across Nursery Wall Decals. Gone are the days of wall paper borders and stencils that are messy and hard to work with it. Nursery Decals are the perfect solution for me. The color pallets are practically endless, and so finding the perfect shade was a snap. I may have gone just a teensy bit overboard, but I now have enough Nursery Wall Decals to ensure that I will be ready to decorate, no matter what sex the baby is. (I'm almost hoping I have one of each, the Nursery Decals are just too cute to not use all of them!)

Update: I ended up having a little girl, and in the end, the "all of them" philosophy won out. The Nursery Wall Decals are just too perfect to go to waste. It's a modern world, and the Nursery Decals will help show that little Abby is a modern girl.
