Tailgating is a lot of fun for everyone involved. For the most part, tailgating is a great party idea that requires little party supplies and a lot of thought and preparation. More than likely your party revolves around football or another sport and the theme has been determined ahead of time. Below are a few interesting and creative ways that you can prepare for the best tailgate party of the year!

1. First of all, create and cook foods that are finger foods and can be eaten by hand or with only one utensil. The idea behind this is to eliminate clutter, party supplies and an after party mess. Also, eating foods by hand eliminates the need for seating and additional party supplies, which most often is one of the biggest expenses and problems of a party.

2. Next, please make sure plenty of drinks are available for your guests: More than likely you will need to provide many types of drinks for your guests. People love to drink a variety of drinks while tailgating. For the most part, you will be having your party in the parking lot of your favorite team's stadium and almost everyone participating will have a drink in their hand pretty much the whole time. Alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine are a necessity for most tailgaters. Please make sure alcohol consumption is legal in the stadiums parking lot and that there are many designated drivers available for after the game.

3. Prepare ahead of time: Many people prepare food and have it packed in advanced. This not only alleviates a mess, but it will save valuable time. Make arrangements to keep the food and other supplies stored in order to keep them cold or hot. If you will be using party utensils, make sure they are disposable and that you have some way to lay them out, for example, put your utensils on a tablecloth. In addition to using napkins many hosts will find it beneficial to have a few paper towel rolls available. Also, please do not forget your garbage bags to take care of the trash and other items.

Most people find that more often than not, tailgate parties are great and a lot of fun. For the most part this is true, especially if you are prepared. Additionally, make sure you are not caught unprepared. This can be done by making sure you have the above mentioned items on hand and available.
