Toyota has always been committed to philanthropy in the community and its two recent campaigns, Toyota 100 Cars for Good program and Ideas for Good Program, are a testament to Toyotas continued efforts to contribute to the community and provide new ideas for energy management.

Wheeling Toyota dealers are proud to share that Toyota has recently announced the first 25 winners of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program. During the 100-day program Toyota will award 100 vehicles to 100 deserving non-profit companies. Throughout the program, five non-profit organizations are profiled on Toyotas Facebook page and the public then votes to determine the winning non-profit organization.

The first 25 non-profit organizations included animal welfare and wildlife, education and human services organizations, which all received a new Toyota vehicle to help further support the organizations missions. The winning organizations can choose to receive a Prius, Tacoma, Tundra, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna or Sienna Mobility, which also come with a six-year, 100,000-mile Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement for extended warranty protection.

We are delighted to announce the first 25 winners of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Program, Jim Lentz, president of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. said in a company statement. The program was created to provide vehicles to deserving non-profit organizations that are doing good things in their communities. Each of the selected winners is a testament to the outstanding missions of their respective organizations. We congratulate our first 25 winners and wish the remaining finalists in the running the best of luck.

North shore Toyota drivers are encouraged to visit the Toyota Facebook page to vote on non-profit organizations through August 16. Voters can place one vote each day over the course of the 100 days.

In addition, Wheeling Toyota dealers are thrilled to share the news that Toyota has recently held its Ideas for Good weekend where the five winners of the Ideas for Good challenge brought their Toyota inventions together. The challenge winners worked with Deeplocal and Carnegie Mellon University engineers to build prototypes of their winning ideas.

One of the participants proposed a way to improve bicycle helmets using the Total Human Model for Safety Toyota injury simulation software. Another inventor used Hybrid Synergy Drive to reconfigure gym equipment to generate electricity during a workout so that the energy from the various weight machines can be used more efficiently. One of the creators used Toyotas Solar-Powered Ventilation System to invent a device that ventilated cooking fumes and smoke from indoor fires, which are common in impoverished areas.

The next inventor used Toyotas Advanced Parking Guidance System to precisely position a fire trucks ladder against a building. Toyotas Advanced Parking Guidance System currently uses sensors, cameras and software to park a car and the technology can possibly be transferred over to a robotic fire truck ladder. The last creator used the Toyota Touch Tracer Display to control a computer mouse, keyboard and numerical pad from a dome-shaped keypad.

North Shore Toyota dealerships are excited to learn more about the Toyota technology inventions and the further developments in Toyotas Ideas for Good Campaign.
