Scotland offers a warm welcome which is why every year hundreds of thousands of international visitors descend on Scottish shores to admire the beautiful mountains, dramatic landscape, lochs and rivers.

Ok, the weather may not be the greatest but even on a wet summers day there is much to explore. The North of Scotland offers picturesque views of natural beauty as well as the opportunity to experience its history through its monuments and castles. The journey through Glencoe is memorable and is regularly sited as one of the most beautiful places in Scotland. Its popular with tourists and walkers as it can be reached by following the famous West Highland Way, a long distance footpath starting in Milngavie, Glasgow ending at Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.
Fort William is a major tourist attraction due to the proximity of Ben Nevis,

Scotlands and Britains highest mountain (4,409Ft). Around 100,000 climbers ascend Ben Nevis each year and it also hosts the yearly Ben Nevis Race where 500 competitors run up to the summit and back again.

Lying about 23 miles from the city of Inverness in the North of Scotland is Loch Ness, best known for its alleged sightings of the famous Loch Ness Monster! Its depth is great, perfect to harbour Nessie and you can enjoy a boat trip on the loch in the hope of catching a glimpse of the monster yourself!

Skye is the largest, northerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland and up until the 1990s was only accessible by sea before the Skye road bridge was constructed. Skye is home to a vast array of wildlife and game birds and for those reasons its popular with naturalists. It has a strong folk music tradition and the game of shinty is very popular played throughout the island.

No visit to the North of Scotland is complete without taking in the sights of its many castles. Each is rich in history and folklore and guided tours are readily available. Some of the most favourite castles to explore are Inverary, Doune (film location for Monty Python and the Holy Grail), Edinburgh and Balmoral Castle.

Its possible to visit Scotland at any time of year. Temperatures vary from mild springs to cold winters. Summer time can be warm but sometimes wet and importantly days are long as daylight lasts until after 9pm.

Different tour durations are available to make the most of your visit and with all of Scotland so accessible even a short stay can mean you get to see the countrys highlights and memorable sights.
