North Indian Delights At Aroma | Pune

By:

What you see - Aroma is a small eatery tucked away in a silent corner of Koregaon Park, Pune. The restaurant is spread across a small room and is functionally done up. Maroon color dominates most of the upholstery.

As you enter the restaurant, you see pictures of yin and yang adorning the walls. You can often come across foreigners reading quietly over soft drinks or a cup of coffee. However, the look and feel is otherwise cluttered.

What you get - Aroma is a multi-cuisine restaurant that serves Chinese and North Indian food. We started with a plate of Green Salad and a portion of chicken soup. The salad was fresh consisting of finely tossed onions, carrots, radish, cucumber and tomato and suitable for the health conscious. The soup was decent too. You can also try some Tandoori starters which come in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Their Mutton Seekh Kabab is a must-try.

For the main course the restaurant has an a la carte menu. We decided to opt for the North Indian delicacies as they are known to be mouthwatering. Our order for Chicken Rogan Josh and Mutton Fry accompanied by Butter naan and Tandoori roti arrived without delay with mouthwatering aroma wafting in the air. The Chicken Rogan Josh served here is worth a try. The rich and spicy gravy and the succulent and tender chicken simply melt in your mouth and keep you craving for more. The Mutton Fry has juicy pieces of mutton wrapped in spices. These dishes in accompaniment with the Indian breads are a perfect relishing meal. You can also dig into the Garlic Naan, which is absolutely delectable. They have desserts like ice creams, Falooda (beverage made with tapioca pearls and milk) and Mastani (creamy shake topped with ice cream and nuts) too for the ones with a sweet tooth.

Our verdict The staff is courteous at Aroma and the North Indian food is recommended. The Chinese food could improve. The restaurant serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The portion size is adequate. They also do home deliveries. During the weekends it is really tough to find a place here. The restaurant is popular among families. Parking space is available only for two wheelers. Service is quick.
