North Carolina Foreclosure Homes Are Staying Steady

By: Joseph Smith

The North Carolina foreclosure homes located in Pitt County seem to be holding steady and not rising as some other cities are experiencing. Of course, the number of North Carolina foreclosure homes is higher than it was in the past few years; it seems to have come to a halt. No foreclosure is ever pleasant for the homeowner and it is a reason for the general community to be on alert as to why.

Pit County has 360 foreclosures in North Carolina court in the last half of 2007. Most were let go by the lenders. Over a hundred found their way to public auction, over 30 were included in bankruptcy, and about 20 were still being worked on. In 2008, the first half of the year brought over 350 more foreclosures. The resulting loss of homes in communities will mean the reduction of other homes value in the same area. A predicted $10 million dollar loss will be felt by the surrounding communities. Sales of homes have definitely decreased but have not come to a complete stop yet.

If you talk to the professionals as to the reason why the North Carolina foreclosure homes are coming on the market, you will get a different answer from each one of them. Most will even give a few reasons why the market is falling into such a slump. The good thing about it is that North Carolina foreclosure homes are not seeing such a high loss rate as some other states including Florida and California.
